The solutions below will guide you through the steps that can be used to uninstall Trend Micro PC-cillin and Trend Micro Internet Security.

 

 

Uninstall Tools available:

-       For PC-cillin 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007: PccTool.exe

-       For Internet Security 2008/ Internet Security PRO 2008 / AntiVirus plus Anti-Spyware 2008: TISsuprt.exe

-       For Internet Security 2009 / Internet Security PRO / AntiVirus plus Anti-Spyware 2009: TIStool.exe

 

Note: The uninstall tool for the latest version will always be able to uninstall previous versions as well.

Note: See the bottom of this page to download 64-bit versions of these tools.

 

 

Below are detailed uninstallation steps for the various versions:

- Uninstalling PC-cillin 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 or 2007

- Uninstalling Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 / Internet Security PRO 2008 / AntiVirus plus Anti-Spyware 2008

- Trend Micro Internet Security 2009, Trend Micro Antivirus plus AntiSpyware 2009 and Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2009

 

 

Uninstalling PC-cillin 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 or 2007.

 

Solution:

 

  1. Download the file PCCTool.exe to your Desktop (click here for the 64-bit version)
  2. Double click on PCCTool.exe
  3. Click on tab [B] Uninstall: choose the version of PC-cillin you wish to uninstall (if you have installed more than one version, restart your PC, then uninstall the different version)

Note: If parts of Trend Micro are still installed, the uninstall option will be on tab [E] Uninstall.

Uninstalling Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 / Internet Security PRO 2008 / AntiVirus plus Anti-Spyware 2008 using the uninstall tool.

Solution:

 

Some files of Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 are still left in the computer. You can completely remove all Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 files by using the support tool TISSuprt.exe.

To uninstall Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 using the TISSuprt.exe file:

  

  1. Close the Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 main console if it is open.
  2. Click on Start > My Computer.
  3. Double-click Local Disk C: then double-click on the Program Files folder.

  1. Look for the Trend Micro folder then open it.
  2. Look for the Internet Security folder then open it.

  1. Double-click on the TISSuprt.exe file. It has a red and white lifesaver icon. The Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit window appears.

  1. Click on the Uninstall tab.

  1. Click on the Uninstall button again when asked if you want to continue with the uninstallation.

Note: If a message appears asking you to delete quarantined files, click Yes to proceed with the uninstallation

  1. A message appears when the uninstallation is complete. Click Yes to restart your computer.

How to remove or uninstall Trend Micro Internet Security 2009, Trend Micro Antivirus plus AntiSpyware and Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2009.

Solution:

There are three ways to remove the Security Software on your computer. You may follow these instructions if you have encountered some issues with the product that requires you to uninstall the product first to reinstall.

 

It is recommended that you use TIS Diagnostic Toolkit Option ii to make sure that all components will be completely removed on your computer.

 

I.          Add/Remove Programs

 

-      Click the Start Button and select the Control Panel.

-      On the new window that would appear click the Add or Remove Programs option.

-      The Add or Remove Programs window will appear, Select Trend Micro Internet Security

-      Then click the remove button.

-      As you click the remove button, the Trend Micro Internet Security Installer will appear click the uninstall to continue the uninstallation.

-      Note: If you do not have internet connection it is recommended that you remove the checkmark on "Take survey after removing the program".

-      This should start the uninstallation process.

-      While you are removing the product it will ask you to fill-up a survey. (You may skip this part and just close the window).

-      Once completed, you need to restart the computer. Click the restart now button that will appear on the screen.

II.         TIS Diagnostic Toolkit

 

You can use the support tool if you are having issues removing the product that was installed on your machine.

 

Acquire a copy of the support tool

 

-      You may download a copy of the support tool from the links below if you cannot find a copy on your computer. Make sure you save the tool on your desktop.

                 

                                    32bit Windows XP and Vista

                                    64bit Windows XP and Vista

Run the tool

 

-      On your Desktop, select and run TIStool tool

-      The WinZip Self Extractor window should appear, click the Unzip button

-      Close all open application and programs to avoid confusion

-      Open the following items:

My Computer | Local Disk C | Support Tool

-      Double click TISTOOL application.

-      On the Diagnostic Tool Window, select [E] Uninstall then 1. Uninstall.

-      You' be prompted to take note of your serial number before uninstallation. Once completed, just put a check mark on I have finished writing down the serial number, then click Next.

-      On the Trend Micro Uninstall Toolkit click the Uninstall Button

-      It should restart the computer upon successful Uninstallation.

III.        Start button shortcut

 

-      Click the Start button then select All Programs

-      Select Trend Micro Internet Security on the list that will appear

-      Select Uninstall Trend Micro Internet Security from the second layer of options

-      As the Trend Micro Internet Security Installer window appears, click the Uninstall button

Note: If you do not have internet connection it is recommended that you remove the checkmark on "Take survey after removing the program"

-      This should start the uninstallation process

-      While you are removing the product it will ask you to fill-up a survey. (You may skip this part and just close the window).

-      Once completed, you need to restart the computer. Click the restart now button that will appear on the screen.
